I went to the photography stores early to get help from Mo with the printing, I printed on A3 matte paper as after my experimentation it definitely seemed like the right type of paper. I think the images absorbing light rather than reflecting it give them an even darker feeling to them which really aids their aesthetic. My feet are in the image for reference of their size. Printing was a slight problem, I had converted the files to Tiff as advised by Julian and did a little research into what it was and why to do it. When printing Mo helped me set up the presets and then told me not to touch anything in a certain folder. Unfortunately however, the computer would manually change it back to gloss after each photo so I had two botched prints. The blacks looked pretty awful, especially the deepest areas of it as they had a blue hue to them and there was definitely no way I would get away with using them. Luckily Mo understood and gave me two extra sheets which was really nice of him because otherwise it would have cost me £20 and I could have just printed at a store or online rather than waiting to get to uni for their prices and availability.
I am really glad I printed it myself as I now understand a little more how to print in the uni’s facilities, something I will definitely be doing in the next two and a half years. Below are the images that were ruined, its quite hard to see the damage in these photos but in person it is very noticeable and I wouldn’t want my project to be let down by it. My next steps are to work on order of the prints to create a powerful triptych and finish the project.
